Twirl Around the World!

Without abandoning my original intent for this blog of walking & fitness, I want to expand it to include my WALK with the Lord and our Spiritual Health!

I want to fulfill the purpose God has for me, bring Him glory, and bless as many others I can along my journey!

Praying you will receive a blessing for journeying with me along this path!

2010: Weekend-June 26-27

This weekend was good! I admit that my greatest exercise was playing "chase" with my cat, Barney! Yet, I must say, after a few runs back and forth chasing each other through the house, I was certainly winded and had to sit down to catch my breath! I'm sure the laughing added to the need to gasp for more air! However, I believe if you could actually see him chase me, and vice versa, you'd laugh, too! He even "tags" me with his paw, even to the point of running behind me and almost "tackling" me as he runs past me--as if to taunt me, saying, "Catch me if you can!" Do THAT for about 15 - 20 minutes, and you will have a GREAT workout!

I took advantage of the weekend at home to spend more time with God, in my Quiet Time, in prayer, studying scripture, and writing (in my "hand-writing"/Morning Pages journal). I will perhaps elaborate on Morning Pages later--the idea is from the author/writer, Julia Cameron (http://www.theartistsway.com), who has written several inspiring books. The first book which promoted these Morning Pages is called The Artist's Way. It's wonderful--check out her website!

Deciding to scan and post a few old pictures from college, I found myself laughing again (See ME as a Kitty, from college above:  LOL!!). Many in the photos are already my facebook friends, some I have lost track of, and I just had to laugh at how much I have changed! I'm quite curious about any reactions some of these friends might have to seeing these "ancient" photos! One is already trying to help me figure out the setting for one photo. Perhaps our combined memories can recreate the original scenarios of these photos, much of which I have forgotten what occurred!

Saturday evening, Billy and I enjoyed celebrating the wedding of two of our community's "children"--both whom we knew, and whose parents we knew, and have known for a very long time! It was a beautiful, sweet, and joyful wedding celebration, for two of God's kids to become one! The reception hall was exquisitely decorated, and all the food was delicious! It was truly like a family reunion! The "kids" are spending their honeymoon in Hawaii--couldn't recommend a much better place for that!

This week will be a much busier one, so I know I will need both my REST/SLEEP and my WALKING DAILY, along with good eating habits! Thankfully, I have THIS blog to which I can post for accountability--even if no one else in the world reads it. I know just having it and simply making the commitment to walk and post daily will help keep me faithful...it may even help me be more disciplined in other areas as well! I actually got ready early enough this morning to ride with Billy to Sunday School and NOT be late!!! SHOCK of all SHOCKS! Three folks arrived LATER than I did!

I STILL believe in miracles...do you?

Tootles,
Turtle Girl
