Thankfully, I was up VERY early so walking was not a problem today. In fact, I hardly got any sleep last night.
I enjoyed
several interesting "wildlife" sights along the way to the DSU Fitness Trail this morning. The bunny to the right stood as still as a statue long enough for me to get a few pictures, but as soon as I turned around to move a tad closer, s/he had completely disappeared from the landscape! Just down the block, a squirrel was standing at attention nibbling on his breakfast and appeared as if he were going to remain brave enough for me to walk past him without flinching. Alas, not so--he dashed away toward the nearest tree to hide!Coal
was a miniature poodle who came out to the street to greet me and was rather reluctant to return to his parents, who were apparently readying their vehicle for a trip! But he was a hyper doll! One sight that has become rather interesting to me is one I am seeing fairly frequently. Just off my main walking street, a very "mature" gentleman is using a manual weeding tool to remove weeds from his front lawn. The thing is, if he does it EVERY day, won't he eventually run out of weeds to remove? Just wondering!
The Perfect Lawn
does exist on Canal Street. With a gentle spritz of dew blanketing the entire lawn, it appeared almost like soft green crystals had been scattered across it. I simply couldn't resist taking a picture--then seeing my long morning shadow, I realized that would be an interesting perspective!
My time
around the fitness trail was noticeably quicker--I made a mile in about 14-15 minutes! Considering I had only walked on Sunday, but had missed Monday through Wednesday of this week, I was rather surprised!
Many tasks
await me today, so I must sign off!
Tootles,
Turtle Girl
